Town Halls

The Town Hall meeting is the cornerstone of public engagement. Our facilities include:

  • A physical town hall meeting space with a capacity of up to 100, equipped with video recording and multimedia projection capabilities
  • A number of smaller meeting rooms with audiovisual recording and projection facilities
  • A wireless network throughout the town hall building to facilitate the collection of real-time data from participants and audience members using 80 PDAs (personal hand–held computers equipped with polling software)
  • A portable kiosk, which allows users to remotely view events held at the Town Hall facility and provide feedback using the modem and webcam. The kiosk also provides the public with a virtual “speakers’ corner” whereby people can respond to questions using the touch screen or the audiovisual components of the webcam and telephone line. The kiosk can be displayed and used anywhere there is an internet hook-up, such as libraries, institutions, and at events such as conferences.
